Abdou Elhendy, MD, PhD, FACC, FAHA

Biography:

Dr. Elhendy is a widely published and internationally recognized cardiologist. His clinical interests include non-invasive cardiology, echocardiography, stress echocardiogram and myocardial perfusion imaging. Dr. Elhendy performs an average of 3,000 echocardiograms a year.

After achieving his medical degree from the Faculty of Medicine, Cairo, Egypt in 1985, Dr. Elhendy completed his internship and residency in cardiovascular medicine at Cairo University Hospital (1986-1990); a cardiology fellowship at Thoraxcenter, in Rotterdam, the Netherlands (1993-1995); echocardiography fellowship at the Mayo Clinic, Rochester USA (1999-2001). He is currently associate professor of medicine, section of Cardiology, at the University of Nebraska Medical Center.

Dr. Elhendy is widely published, with more than 225 publications in national and international journals, including 81 original studies as a first author in peer-reviewed journals.
