If you want a low-allergen garden, can you send fescue to the rescue?

If you're toying with the notion of planting fescue in your garden you should probably consider this first: Fescue is a highly allergenic variety of grass. In general, the only type of grass that is low-allergen garden friendly is St. Augustine. But, St. Augustine won't grow everywhere. If you plant grass that isn't as allergy-friendly as St. Augustine, the key is to mow it like crazy. Mowing grass prevents if from flowering, which is crucial if you want to reduce the amount of allergens your lawn is pumping into the air.
