Allergy Tips

What's lurking in your houseplants?

Houseplants may be pretty to look at, but they can also be little mold factories. Mold loves dark and moist conditions, like house plants that get too much water or too little sun. Fortunately, the mold in houseplants usually doesn't make it into the air (where you can breathe it in) unless the soil is disturbed. Make sure you only repot houseplants outside, and wear a mask to be on the safe side. You should also make regular visual examinations of houseplants for any signs of mold.
