Can Monogamous Couples Get STDs?

Question :

My wife and I regularly have oral sex. She went to the doctor the other day with a sore mouth, and the doctor said it was a fungus (yeast). We would like to know if this could be caused by oral sex. We have been married for 35 years and we are both very clean people. Thank you.

Answer :

Certainly some STDs are fungus-like but if you have been completely faithful, then it's not possible for it to be an STD. You should ask this question of your doctor.
