Biography:

Dr. Friedel earned his bachelor's degree from New York University in 1979. He earned his MD from SUNY Upstate Medical Center in 1983 and completed his residency in internal medicine at Maimonides Medical Center in 1986. He completed a fellowship in gastroenterology at Temple University Hospital in 1989. His honors include Phi Beta Kappa (1978); Magna Cum Laude, with honors in history and chemistry (1979); Meade Scholarship (1983); and outstanding second year resident (1984).
