Diabetes & Endocrine Basics Center

Diabetes is a disorder in the body’s ability to break down blood sugar. In type 1 diabetes, the body produces no insulin. In type 2 diabetes, the body does not produce enough or cannot use insulin. The endocrine system is made up of the glands and hormones that regulate mood, growth and development, metabolism, tissue function, and sexual and reproductive functions.
