How much does drinking beer affect weight gain? I would like to lose a little weight and I'm wondering if giving up beer will help. --Stacey

Answer :

You've got to give up beer -- that's the surest way to get rid of those unwanted pounds. Beer contains a lot of carbohydrates, which, when eaten, are broken down as sugar and stored as fat in your body. Certain carbohydrates, like vegetables and some grains, take longer to break down and consequently are utilized more efficiently in the body as fuel. But beer does not qualify as one of those fuel-efficient carbohydrates.
