Can I substitute flax oil pills for the flax oil?

Question :

Can I substitute flax oil pills for the flax oil?

Answer :

Absolutely. It takes about 9 capsules of oil to equal 1 tablespoon of the flax oil. However, with 2 tablespoons of oil a day, this would mean taking a lot of pills -- 18 to be exact -- staggered throughout the day at 6 per meal. And although the capsules may be more convenient, flax oil is more economical. Also, the quality of the oil in the capsules could be compromised due to the encapsulation process.
