The overlapping grip, also called the Vardon grip, is the most widely used and best for most golfers, except those with small hands (if that's you, you might benefit from the two-handed, or baseball, method; get your pro to demonstrate). According to many pros, golf is 98 percent setup (which revolves around your grip) and two percent start. Establishing a "grip it right" routine is vital for control of the club and the ball.
