Help for a Sagging Butt

Question :

How do you get rid of a sagging butt?

Jess

Answer :

Jess, you want to focus on exercises that use the muscles of the hip and glute area. You also want to make sure you're doing the right things to lower your body fat, since the rear end is a major fat storage area.

Walking on a treadmill with an incline or using a stepper is a good way to get aerobic exercise and work your glutes and other leg muscles at the same time. In-line skating is another great way to work those butt muscles. Just check out a speed skater's butt -- that's all the proof you need.

Any exercise that makes you extend your hip will work the area you're concerned with, Jess. Squats, lunges and leg presses are all good exercises. Of course, you should really train your whole body. Increase your lean muscle mass and burn up some calories doing aerobic exercise and there won't be much left to sag.

If you work out at home, try working out with a video tape -- "Buns of Steel" is a classic for toning the glutes and Kathy Smith's lower body tape is also good.
