Question :

I have about 10 pounds to lose, so last month I started going to the gym. I work out five days a week (three days of cardio, two days of strength training), but I haven't lost a single pound! What am I doing wrong? --Terri

Answer :

While going to the gym five days a week seems very ambitious, you may not be spending your time in the most efficient and productive way. Try increasing the number of strength-training days and combine them with the cardio days. For example, try doing three to four days of cardio sculpting, where you integrate circuits of cardiovascular exercise with weight-resistant training. For an added pop, add another day of just cardiovascular exercise. This routine will increase your muscle density, raising your basal metabolic rate and burning fat and calories at a higher rate. The pounds should melt right off.
