How Can I Lose Weight if I'm a Picky Eater?By: Question : I am a 35-year-old stay-at-home mom with two children. My dilemma is that most of my weight goes to either my stomach or my breasts. I would like to reduce the "rolls" a bit. And I've tried dieting, but I'm a picky eater and I only eat a handful of vegetables. I would like to find ways (ones that I can actually do) to reduce my weight. --dotsgirl222 Answer : Dear dotsgirl222: Instead of focusing on an area where you might not have as much success, such as increasing veggie intake, look at the things you CAN do. What about increasing activity? Eating smaller portions? Using low-fat cooking methods? Eating the vegetables you DO enjoy? Looking at your snacking patterns? It's impossible to lose weight in target areas. We lose weight where our genetic history deems fit. A combination of aerobic exercise (walking, biking, etc) and weight training is recommended for overall weight loss. Just doing sit-ups to work on your stomach, for example, is probably not going to help you lose weight as much as a daily walking program will. Good luck!
