Lose a Million Pounds

How many pounds do you want to lose? 10? 20? How about a million? Since January 4, iVillage women have lost 600,000 pounds in the iLose it for Good Community Challenge. That's the weight equivalent of 50 elephants — but we're not stopping there. We're on a mission to lose one million pounds by the time warm weather hits. And we want you to join us.

The spring is a time for fresh new beginnings, so get started on working toward a healthy new body with the support of other women like you. Besides feeling better about your body on the beach, you'll gain more energy and lower your risk of high blood pressure, diabetes, stroke and some types of cancers. We've got the tools to get you started and keep you on track.

  • Sign up for a free, customized meal and exercise plan, and join your fellow participants on the message boards for advice and support.
  • Check in and share tips with our real women blogging about the daily challenges and successes they've faced since starting the iLose it for Good Community Challenge on the Reality Bites blog.
  • Get daily dieting tips and celebrity diet gossip with our iWatch Health videos
  • Confess your dieting slip ups on our iConfess graffiti wall.
  • Get motivated by posting a photo of your weight loss motivation in our Motivate Me gallery. You can browse your fellow challenge takers' motivations too whether it's to be more active with their kids, get into a pair of skinny jeans or get healthy for more energy.
  • At 600,000 pounds, we're half-way toward our goal. Sign up and let's get moving!
