Biography:

Dr. Petrossian completed his Cardiology training from 1987 through 1989 at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital, followed by his Interventional Cardiology Training at Massachusetts General Hospital in 1989-90. Since 1991, he has been an Attending Cardiologist at St. Francis Hospital, The Heart Center, in Roslyn, NY. He was a Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine at Columbia-Presbyterian from 1992 through 1998. Over the past ten years, Dr. Petrossian has developed extensive expertise in cardiac intervention, including angioplasty and stent placement. He has also authored and co-authored a large body of original reports published in the American Journal of Physiology, the Journal of Invasive Cardiology and other professional publications. Most recently he has expanded his expertise to include peripheral vascular disease, with a particular focus on carotid artery disease and stroke. Board-certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Diseases and Interventional Cardiology, Dr. Petrossian is now a Director of the Investigational Carotid Stent Program at St. Francis. He is also a principal investigator in several clinical trials evaluating the role of carotid stents as an alternative to carotid surgery.
