The following is an Editorial Resource from YourTotalHealth.

I had a massive heart attack two years ago at age 38. I'm afraid I'll have another attack.

The fact that you are this worried means that you need more information. Gather up all of your records and find a cardiologist in your area that will look at you with a fresh set of eyes. Make sure you find someone with whom you can have a real relationship. You want to establish trust on the days you feel good, so if there’s a crisis you have an advocate who knows you. I have met women like you and I know you’ve been through something horrifying. What concerns me is that even with a stent and the medications you’re still having symptoms. Those symptoms deserve an explanation. And, I believe, a second opinion.

I know how hard it is for women to break away from a physician and get a second opinion. We worry that we’ll hurt our doctor’s feelings, or that a doctor won’t take good care of us if we look elsewhere for help, but good doctors aren’t bothered by your wanting more information. So don’t worry about your doctor’s feelings, I would rather that you worry about your own.
