Cheryle B. Gartley is the founder and president of The Simon Foundation for Continence, the oldest patient-led not-for-profit organization dedicated to increasing public and professional awareness about incontinence. Ms. Gartley is coauthor of the first book written on the topic for the layperson, Managing Incontinence: A Guide to Living with Loss of Bladder Control, published in three languages. She has published in Japan, Germany, Australia and the United Kingdom, including articles in journals such as the Journal of Urological Nursing, Social Work Today and The Lancet. Articles about The Simon Foundation and her work have appeared in such national publications as TIME, Good Housekeeping and Ann Landers' column.

Ms.Gartley has appeared on hundreds of radio and television shows throughout the U.S. and internationally, including ABC's 20/20, People are Talking (San Francisco), Good Morning Australia (Sydney), and network news in Japan, Canada and Germany. She is a member of the International Continence Society and co-founder of their Continence Promotion Committee. Ms. Gartley is the recipient of the American Urology Association's Brantley Scott Award and was selected by the National Institutes of Health as a panelist for the Consensus Development Conference on Adult Urinary Incontinence. She has a BS in education and sociology and did her graduate work at the University of Chicago's Graduate School of Business.
