Question of the Week

Is low blood sugar level one of the causes of frequent urination at night or urinary incontinence?

Catherine E. DuBeau, MD

Low blood sugar has not been demonstrated to cause frequent urination at night or incontinence. However, high blood sugar, as can happen with inadequately controlled diabetes, can cause both.
