How Do I Cope with PMS?By:
I am hoping you can settle this question for my boyfriend and I. Here it is: Is PMS a medical disorder?
Ah, one of my pet peeves. Do the hormonal ups and downs that a woman undergoes during her monthly cycle exist? Absolutely. Should she call it a medical problem and give in to them? I say she shouldn't. I say she has to learn how to cope. Now obviously there are some people who are more affected by their hormonal changes than others. For instance, I'm not just short: At four-foot-seven, I'm very short. Now, I could have determined that I'm too short to have a life and crawled into a hole, but instead I went ahead and overcame whatever difficulties I faced as a short, non-English-speaking, orphaned immigrant, and became a professor and sex therapist. So my advice for anyone who suffers from PMS is to see a doctor so that you can get whatever medications might be of help, and then try your damnedest to pretend that it doesn't exist.
