Oral Medications Center

Fluoride is an oral medication that helps prevent tooth decay. Anesthesia helps prevent pain, while other medications reduce dental anxiety (e.g., sedatives, hypnotics, nitrous oxide). Antibiotics and antimicrobial medications treat and prevent infections. Pain medications and muscle relaxants treat conditions causing dental pain, such as temporomandibular joint disorder.
