How long must I be off the pill before attempting getting pregnant? I've been getting varying advice.

I advise my patients to wait until one or two normal cycles occur so that you can accurately determine the date you conceive. This is helpful in monitoring the pregnancy. If we do not have this information, it is harder to determine your due date. Otherwise, there is no credible information that would lead me to believe that you would be more likely to miscarry or have an abnormal baby if you conceive immediately after discontinuing the pill.
