Questions for your doctor regarding pregnancy

Preparing questions in advance can help patients have more meaningful discussions with their physicians regarding their conditions. Patients may wish to ask their doctor or healthcare professional the following questions about pregnancy:

  1. What is my expected due date?

  2. When will I start to notice signs of my pregnancy?

  3. What signs or symptoms can indicate a problem with my pregnancy?

  4. How often will I come in for prenatal visits?

  5. What can I expect during my prenatal visits?

  6. What tests will be used to monitor my pregnancy and the baby’s development?

  7. When will I have an ultrasound to see my baby’s image?

  8. At what point will I be able to hear the heartbeat or feel the baby move?

  9. What type of prenatal vitamins or diet should I be on?

  10. Are there any foods I should avoid during pregnancy?

  11. What forms of exercise can I do while I’m pregnant?

  12. How do I contact you or your office if I have problems?

  13. Can you recommend some good pregnancy information books or support groups?
