Sex: Why Am I Experiencing Headaches after Orgasm?By:
I'm 43 years old and have suffered from migraine headaches since childhood. The headaches have become less frequent with age, but I get one every two or three months related to PMS. Last year I experienced an orgasmic headache that lasted three weeks. The pain increased whenever I had sex. Now, for two and a half weeks, I've been experiencing the same pain. The pain is on the right side of my head, over the ride eye, in the right temple, the right jaw and the right side of my neck. Also, I have hair loss on the right side of my head. Sometimes, I can hear cracking noises in my neck. What's going on, and what can I do about it?
You need to see a neurologist. A migraine headache should not last three weeks, and vascular (blood vessel) problems need to be ruled out. Problems with your spine or an entrapped nerve may be producing your symptoms. Misalignment of your temporomandibular joint in your jaw is another possibility. You probably need X-rays of your neck and jaw and an MRI of your head. I'm not sure why you would only have hair loss on one side of your head.
