Questions for your doctor

Preparing questions in advance can help patients to have more meaningful discussions with their physicians regarding their conditions. Patients may wish to ask their doctor the following questions related to syndrome X:

  1. Do I have either cardiac syndrome X or syndrome X?

  2. What tests are used to distinguish between the two conditions?

  3. What symptoms do I exhibit that indicate one of these syndromes?

  4. How can you determine the severity of my condition?

  5. How will this condition affect my health?

  6. What type of specialists do I need to see for this condition?

  7. What are my treatment options for my condition?

  8. What are the risks associated with these treatments?

  9. What lifestyle factors can affect this condition?

  10. How will the syndromes be monitored over time?

  11. How can these syndromes affect pregnancy and delivery?

  12. If I have a form of syndrome X, are my children at higher risk for the condition?
