Too Wet during Sex

By:
Kelly Shanahan

Question :

Every time I have intercourse with my husband, I'm always too wet. He says he can't feel anything! Is there anyway to control the wetness?

Chris

Answer :

This is not a common complaint -- most women are troubled by the exact opposite. Unfortunately, it is probably easier to assist with lack of lubrication; using a water-based lubricant generously can help.

With your problem of excessive wetness I have three suggestions: first, see your gynecologist. If you have had vaginal deliveries in the past, part of the problem may be that your vagina has been so stretched that it is too roomy and does not "grip" your husband. Surgery to tighten an overly large vaginal opening may be appropriate. Second, excessive cervical secretions may be part of the problem. Sometimes freezing or lasering the cervix can diminish these secretions. Third, you could try taking an antihistamine: one side effect of these medications is to dry out mucous membranes (like the mouth -- or vagina). It may help.
