Uterine Health: What Is an Anteverted Uterus?By:
I see many questions and answers on a retroverted uterus. What about the anteverted uterus? What does it mean, and what implications does it have for health and sexual function?
--Patti
An anteverted uterus is one that tilts slightly forward; it is the normal position for the uterus. Between 10 and 20 percent of women have a retroverted (backward-tilting) uterus; 10-20 percent have a midposition uterus (one that neither tilts forward or backward); and the remainder have an anteverted uterus. An anteverted uterus has absolutely no implications for reproductive or sexual functioning.
