Vikram Tarugu, M.D., AGA, ACG


Biography:

Dr. Tarugu graduated with honors from the University of Mysore, India, in 1996, and earned his doctorate degree in Radiology and Internal medicine in 1999. He completed his residency in internal medicine at New York Medical College.

Among his awards, Dr. Tarugu was awarded for outstanding service and dedication from the East Tennessee State University (ETSU) in 2005, where he held the position of assistant professor from 2003 to 2005. He earned Best Teacher awards at the Quillen College of Medicine (ETSU) and New York Medical College.

Currently Dr. Tarugu is pursuing a career in Basic science research involving the effects of stress in IBD. His other research interests include motility disorders and acid peptic disorders.
