Where Has My Sex Drive Gone?By:
I am a 32-year-old married female. For some time now I have experienced little or no sex drive. I've had a healthy sex drive in the past, but it started coming and going in monthlong cycles. I can become aroused, but I have no desire to initiate contact. I am considering being tested for a low testosterone level. Can you suggest any other options or solutions?
I am in agreement that you should be tested, but I think it should be a thorough medical exam and not just for low testosterone, which seems to be a fad that may or may not have validity.
Obviously if there is a physical aspect, then that has to be dealt with, but if it turns out that you are healthy, then you must look to other possible causes and solutions.
One common reason for low desire is a relationship problem. If there is something subconsciously bothering you about your husband, then that will cause you difficulties in becoming aroused. So if that seems possible, try to figure out for yourself what issues between you and your husband could be the source of the problem, and then try to fix them. If you can't do it on your own, then go for professional help.
